The forecast North wind will make West Bay a sketchy anchorage. Thanks heavens for South River.
If you haven't been, South River offers an intimate beach with a great spot for our social as well as super protection and a great anchorage. Check it out on your chart. The GPS coordinates are 34.8906-76.5204
We're hoping for another opportunity this year to land on the shores of the beautiful West Bay.
Wind from a southerly direction provides a safe windward shore at West Bay.
If the stars align and the winds are in our favor, we will set our course ENE. The cruise is set for September 26-27, but those who are able may want to leave on Friday the 25th.
If you haven't been to West Bay, take a look at your chart. We have anchored off the beach to the west of the Cedar Island ferry terminal. The social will be Saturday, at 4. Bring a dish to share, chairs, etc.
