     Prevailing winds this time of year are out of the SW, which makes sailing from Cape Lookout to Masonboro inlet more challenging than going in the other direction. Depending on the weather report we may decide to take the ICW from Lookout to Masonboro on the 5^th or 6th and bank on having favorable winds for sailing back.

     As everyone will know, wind and tide conditions determine when you can come through into Beaufort from the outside without a dangerous surf at the channel entrance. If we sail back from Wrightsville, there is a good chance that our arrival times may not nicely coincide with the best entrance conditions. We will play this by ear and may divert to Lookout or decide to loiter outside until it’s possible to enter Beaufort channel.

Sunday 7/5

• How to Fish at Sea While Sailing Clinic if we need to delay a day or two
• Ocean side:  Cape Lookout to Wrightsville via Masonboro Inlet 80 nm as the crow flies (All day and then some depending on wind. Likely anchoring after dark up near the Wrightsville Bridge) 
• ICW:  Cape Lookout to Swansboro, 30 nm or Mile Hammock Bay, 43 nm 

Monday 7/6:

• Ocean Side: Stay in Wrightsville
• ICW:  Mile Hammock Bay to Wrightsville 34 nm

• Dinner social on land 6pm, South Beach Grill

Tuesday 7/7:

• Both groups in Wrightsville
• Dinghy Lunch Beach Social  11am - 4pm
• Bring a dish to share
• Beach is just past the Masonboro Inlet on your port side

Wednesday 7/8:

• Ocean Side: Sail back to Beaufort. Anchor in Taylor Creek across from Beaufort Docks if wind/tide allows or Cape Lookout.
• Meals depending on location
• ICW: Wrightsville, Ice Cream/ Lunch Social  11am - 2pm
• The Original Ice Cream Stand then Lunch @ King Neptune Restaurant & Pirate Bar

Thursday 7/9:

• Ocean Side: Beaufort another night or back to home port
• ICW: Head back, meet up for dinner at Swansboro, Saltwater Grill

Friday 7/10:

• Back to your Home Port
